The 2.5L Copper Rum Still is a beautifully crafted traditional still designed to produce a cleaner, higher-strength spirit through a process known as rectification, or refining.

Unlike a simple pot still, this design incorporates additional refining chambers that allow alcohol vapours to be repeatedly purified during the distillation process. As vapours travel through the still, unwanted water and heavier compounds naturally fall back into the system while the lighter alcohol vapours continue through to the condenser. The result is a cleaner, more refined spirit achieved in a single distillation run.

Its compact size makes it ideal for enthusiasts wanting to learn the principles of distillation, experiment with recipes or produce small batches of high-quality spirits.

How It Works

The fermented liquid is placed in the main boiler and refining vessels. As the liquid heats, alcohol vapours rise through the refining chambers where repeated condensation and re-evaporation help remove water and less desirable compounds.

This process increases alcohol purity and allows the still to produce a higher-strength distillate than a traditional pot still of similar size.
